   East of England Plan
   Big Green Challenge
An independent panel working on the draft East of England Plan has recommended to the Government that 12,000 homes be built in the Borough from 2001-2021. Dacorum’s planning officers are contesting this figure, and estimate that 5,700 of the homes would have to be built somewhere in what is currently Green Belt by 2031.

This project’s aim is to collate contributions of pictures and text from members who value the benefits of particular parts of the existing Green Belt.

One way of commenting on the plan as it affects Dacorum is to visit the Dacorum Borough website at www.dacorum.gov.uk, which is currently highlighting the issue under the link "More Houses - Your Last chance to speak up". Then follow the link to "Development Plans". Time is short! The consultation periods for two key documents are:
Core Strategies Supplementary Paper: 29th Nov 2006 - 19th Jan 2007
Site Allocations Paper: 29th Nov 2006 - 16th Feb 2007
